I was so happy to be exhibiting with Elevei Academy at the Birmingham Black Business Show. I have been meaning to attend for many years now...
At the NEC this year thousands of Black Business supporters attended to hear from great speakers, watch panel discussions and gain business advice from professionals.
Also attendees got the opportunity to meet, network and purchase from Black Owned Businesses both local and nationwide. This year we saw guest appearances from the likes of Levi Roots, Kameese Davis, Scarlett Allen-Horton, Shaun Sookoo and many more.
I worked on the Elevei Academy stall on their Braid Bar. It was a great opportunity to try some new amazing products, network and meet some inspiring people.
The Academy is based in the Digbeth area of Birmingham. They offer training by industry professionals specialising in Hair, Barbering and Wigs.
At the show, I also got a chance to check out some of the stalls. Treasure Tresses had an amazing stall with an interactive "Hair Gym" getting the public involved in activities to gain products. The company offers a subscription service of products for textured hair peoples.
They have a wide range of products from Design Essentials, Plantmade, Aveda, Pattern , As I Am, Shea Moisture and so much more!
I was so disappointed to arrive at the Heavens Delights stall a tad too late, they had sold out of their cupcakes! If you snooze ya lose as they say! The business is owned by 15 year old Zarah Henry and I really wanted to check out the cupcakes I had heard raving reviews about!
One my highlights of the day was the water bottle pictured! I was sooooooooo tickled by the
" Money Affi Mek" water bottles from Lloyds bank who collaborated with hoodgreetings.com for their ongoing Black Entrepreneurs Programme.
Be sure to get you ticket for the next show, the UK Black Business Show in London this October or the next Birmingham show in June 2025
