MBCC Awards

I went to the MBCC Awards and it was such a great night! It was held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on Saturday 29th November. I got a last minute invite and rushed to get ready to make my way after my last client for the day. I scrubbed up ok considering I got ready in like 50 minutes lol!

The Multicultural Business and Community Champion Awards was set up in 2015 by founder Zoe Bennett BEM. The intention of the awards is to celebrate the community, to recognise unsung heroes, inspirational individuals and businesses.

The ceremony was hosted by Judi Love and Noreen Khan and there were performances from Shola Ama, Apache Indian, Marley, Hannah Khemoh and more. Other star guests included Vanessa Felts and Eddie Nestor.

Many awards given such as Community Unsung Hero, Role Model of the year, Charity of the Year and much more.

The legendary Rudolph Walker CBE received the Honorary Lifetime Achievement award after more than 50 years in show business.

Birmingham based business Twinsane Fitness won Inspirational Sports Champion. This category was sponsored bt the FA. I've been following these guys for a while now. They are making a big impact in the community helping people to stay fit.

Apache Indian BEM recieved the Honorary Music Champion award for 30 years of success in the music industry. I had no idea that he was from Birmingham. I remember his 90's classics that hit chart success in Reggae and music charts.

Adrian Lester, another Birmingham born star won a Honorary Inspirational TV Personality award for over 30 years of success in the TV & Film industry.

I was so pleased and excited to see a familiar face Ashton Buffong, The Mixologist serving his amazing cocktails in the VIP lounge. The pre mixed cocktail brand were a winner in the VIP lounge. So very tasty!!! Be sure to follow him on Instagram @themixologist.uk

I was also proud to see my client Sheleah Natanya Weaver be a finalist in the Role Model of the Year category. She has done amazing work with her charity, the SU project which aims to help and support survivors of domestic and sexual abuse.

Attending the awards was so inspiring and such a great networking opportunity.

Please follow, supoort and keep an eye out for next years event.
